Best Size For Phone Wallpaper 2024

Finding a standard or common image size for background wallpapers has frustrated designers for a very long time, because devices are constantly changing along with whatever “standards” or trends that the industry and design community agree on.

Standard Full HD is 1920 x 1080 and has been for many years. But newer screens have pushed things even farther, and after a few years of battling, the so-called 4K resolution has also become popular.

4K is literally “4x” more pixels than standard Full HD, so that would be  3840 x 2160 pixels!

• 4K at 9:19 ratio: 1818 x 3840
• 4K at 9:16 ratio: 2160 x 3840
• FHD at 9:19 ratio: 909 x 1920 (usually not worth it)
• FHD at 9:16 ratio: 1080 x 1920

If you only want a single image file to keep handy for various modern devices, probably 2160 x 3840 is going to be your best bet. Because, it covers all the high end very high resolution 4K phones and mobile devices and can be clipped down to 9:19 ratio or look great on non-4k screens too, like a generic FHD phone.
